Your Barn Dance

As an experienced band, the Taverners will personalise the music and dancing at your party to maximise the enjoyment of all ages. We offer:

· Caller and trad barn/ceilidh dances

We have over twenty years of experience at performing barn dances and offer a wide selection of dances. We play the classical English, Irish and Scottish jigs, reels, polkas and hornpipes.

Our caller will start with some fairly easy dances and teach people how to do them through a mixture of humour, coercion and dire threats! These will get a bit more complicated as the evening progresses dependant upon the ability of the dancers to cope!

· Songs and background music

We know that people are not going to want to dance all the time, but we want to make sure that the momentum of the evening isn’t interrupted. To cater for this, we will play and sing songs in between the dances to keep the momentum of the evening going.

· Humour

Yes we aim to have fun and we will tell a few jokes, but with a sense of decorum. We promise not to upset anybody, unless you specifically ask us to!

· The band

All of our players are experienced musicians and double up on a variety of instruments. A typical selection for a barn dance might include; fiddle, banjo, mandolin, flute/pipe, guitar, double bass, accordian and keyboards. Our up to date sound system enhances the sound and volume to cater for all sizes of dance venues.

· Finally

If you have any other queries don’t hesitate to contact us, however late in the day. If you do book us, we will send you a contract for your assurance and we want you to feel that you can relax for the evening, with all of the entertainment safely in our hands.
